Area artists (professional & amateur) are invited to submit paintings to be displayed on rocking chairs that will be purchased/sponsored and installed in designated areas around Downtown Black Mountain, regional attractions, and tourism locations for a five month public art exhibit, and auctioned in October with proceeds to benefit Swannanoa Valley Fine Arts League (SVFAL), Black Mountain Center for the Arts (BMCA) and Black Mountain Marketing Council.
Each artists' name will be featured in the Rocking Chair Brochure (distributed throughout Western North Carolina) and any future upcoming marketing, as well as a nameplate attached to the arm of each chair indicating artist name, artist title of painting and sponsor name.
